Why the address comes before the forms

d.o.o. in short
D.o.o. stands for društvo s ograničenom odgovornošću, a limited liability company. The simpler variant is the j.d.o.o. gov.hr gives a minimum share capital of 2,500.00 EUR for a d.o.o. and 1.00 EUR for a j.d.o.o. (gov.hr j.d.o.o. page and the d.o.o. page above, read 15 Oct 2026).
Pick the form with an accountant before you pick the address. The form sets the capital and the papers, and the address comes after.
What an address cannot do
An address does not found your company. It answers one line of the paperwork and receives the letters that follow. The rest, from drafting documents to deciding who may sign them, sits with Croatian lawyers and accountants.

After registration: the first letters
Once the company exists, post addressed to it starts to arrive, in Croatian. Decide on day one who reads it and how. Start gives an email notice. Scan gives a scan of each item, up to 30 items a month.
Keep the address as long as the company lists it as its seat. Moving later is a procedure of its own, and it has its own page.
Ask who files the tax paperwork too. That is a different role from the address, and a different person.

gov.hr lists three routes: START for Croatian citizens with an active residence in Croatia, e-Sudski registar for Croatian and EU/EEA citizens (electronic founding of a d.o.o. and j.d.o.o., other steps done separately), and in-person steps for Croatian, EU/EEA and foreign citizens (read 15 Oct 2026).
